Hello again, friends! Leah here, very anxious to show you all the projects from our lovely Odd Girls for our Stash Challenge #2!

Have you checked out the Some Odd Girl shop? NEW IMAGES were released this past Tuesday, and I'm pretty sure you're going to love 'em! The reviews have been wonderful so far! You'll be seeing a sampling of them in our cards today, but we have some business to take care of first, don't we? :)

9 submissions for Style Challenge #1, using Kristy's sketch. NOT BAD! Thanks for joining us and sharing your beautiful creations! We were pleasantly surprised at how many of you used Some Odd Girl images! Of course you are welcome to use any images you like, but using one of ours will get you a second entry for the draw! And, well, there's always a FREEBIE up for grabs, so why not double your chances, right?

That said, there were 9 entries, but 17 numbers went into the randomizer, and the winner of the lovely Mae as Alice image, plus one of your choice from the store, is #7......

JOANNE!
She used Lounging Kaylee and submitted this GORGEOUS card:

GORGEOUS! Joanne, please email Kristy@SomeOddGirl.com to get your Mae as Alice digi, and let her know which other image you'd like from the store. Congratulations! :)

We also have a blinkie for two of you to grab and post (if you like!) on your blogs, because we LOVED your cards! Our two faves for this week:

Now, onto our next challenge... and it IS a challenge for many of us who love to play with patterns and mix them up! The task: NO PATTERNED PAPERS! You can make your own patterns using stamping, embossing, misting, masking or whatever you'd like, but your papers need to start out totally naked! ;)

Here's what our talented Odd Girls have done with this one...
(and be sure to click the images to enlarge!)

Kimmy used the brand new Relax Mae, and added texture
with her Cuttlebug embossing folder and lots of fun touchy-feelie elements:

Ann used Round Belly Robot, who's one of our brand new CREATURES,
with an awesome monochromatic palette, and more embossing:

Marcie went for a sweet, elegant card, using the brand new Magic Mae,
just the right amount of dimension and texture, and her C'bug!

Jennifer brought us this clever little creation using Owlie -
how CUTE is his little home in the tree?!

Robin added her texture in a much different way -
look at that awesome stitching! She used Curtsy Kaylee:

Shelly makes Rainy Mae POP with this awesome color combo!
Doesn't the embossing fit PERFECTLY with the theme of the card?!

Kristy used the brand new Mae Posies and this awesome
houndstooth background using her Silhouette:

and something a little out there from me, Leah, using
Spike, who was our March freebie (no longer available!),
and Tentacles (he makes me laugh!):

And there you have it! A little sampling of some of the new images, and hopefully a whole lot of inspiration for you! Care to play along? Join us, and link up below by Wednesday, May 5th at midnight EST for your chance to win TWO free digis of your choice from SomeOddGirl.com! Meet Chrissy!

Welcome back! Sorry about the no show yesterday Oddies! We had a crazy lightning storm Monday night and had a strike super close (so close I heard the crackle before the boom!) and it fried our DSL modem. SO thanks to verizon, UPS and 68 minutes on the phone today I am back on the internet! YAY!

Today is the last day to get in on our first challenge so if you are workin with it you'll have to get it in gear :) but more importantly today...

Let me introduce you to Chrissy!

I came across Chrissy on 2peas and searched out her blog and gently "prodded" her to enter our DT call. Her coloring skills are amazing and I could see how comfy she was with digis that I couldn't not push her LOL. I'm so glad she took me up on it and I'm thrilled to have her!

I'm 33 years old. I live in PA, and married with a 3 year old daughter. I've been in the scrapbooking hobby for quite some time, 9+ years. I was mostly into scrapbooking, but just recently decided to switch to cardmaking/coloring. When I was scrapbooking, I was also a stamp designer for various scrapbooking kit clubs, and was also a page designer for 5-7 design teams.

Due to some personal decisions I've decided to go purely cardmaking and coloring. I've been coloring for about 2-3 months. I've always loved coloring as a kid and now I guess I'm rediscovering it at another level and it has turned into a passion of mine. I'm fairly new at this hobby, but I feel like a natural at this.

My style...I like to color whimsical images most of all. I love to color people/kids. Some of the style I like you can look at my creations on my blog. As you can see on my blog, I pretty much color. I don't do elaborate cards and projects. I think the "coloring" part takes up most of my time, and I'm done after that. LOL. I make the cards fairly simple, so I can go on to coloring my next image! :)
She wowed me with March's Freebie

If you didn't get Spike I bet after this I bet you wish you had! Chrissy has answered our Odd Questions too!

What makes you Odd? I love ladybugs stamps, but I'm really scared of them in real life.
If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself? I would stick myself in my pinky finger so I can remember 'to-do' things in my list. I'm very forgetful.

What ONE crafty item do you most identify with and why? My Copic collection. I've done many crafty things, but Copic coloring is my true love (besides my cutie hubby)

5 Random Facts about you! I love online window (uh monitor) shopping. I love air fresheners, I have one in every room. I loathe cooking. I love peanut butter, my hubby is allergic to it. It takes me hours to shop, I can never make up my mind.

If you had to choose between being colour blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why? Losing my sense of taste. Colors to me is window to the imagination. And how would I color with Copics if I can't see the colors? That would be really tough. Taste..... I need to lose weight, so who needs tastes anyway, right??

What fictional character is most like you? Definitely Lucy from Snoopy. I pick on people.... lol .

Our first for losing their taste I think!  My thought too and for the same reason HA! Well Chrissy has a special giveaway up on her blog for a get it before you can buy it image!

This is Mae as Alice! You can't get this digi until April 20 UNLESS you are the winner over at Chrissy's Blog! You HAVE to go thru her blog and look at all the great inspiration you can find! Not only does she have wonderful cards and amazing skills but she has some great links for anyone who is into copics or prism markers. I have alot of readin to do!

Stop on by tomorrow for our second Challenge that I know you'll love! Stay Odd!

Greetings Ann!

Hi Oddies! Welcome back to a new week! We have a couple more DT intros for you and on Thursday we will have our next challenge. This one is a Style Challenge so stop on by for that! But don't head out just yet!

Today let me introduce you to Ann!

Ann is a busy bee! For someone who has only been doin this craft  for not even a YEAR she can and will totally blow you away! She's up front and isn't afraid to shine! Here's a lil about Ann...
I started creating cards in May 2009 because I got laid off earlier in the year and couldn't stand to sit at home doing nothing. I was inspired by all the wonderful blogs and decided to pick up cardmaking. I've been in love with the hobby ever since :) I work full-time now, but can't seem to shake off the new hobby, lol. I love all styles, from sweet and girly to elegant and mature, and clean and simple to layered and full of embellishments. It just depends on what I feel like making for the day. I don't think anyone should ever hold back just because they need to stick to a certain style. Concerning the personal stuff, I live in Los Angeles, CA, have been married for about 1.5 months, have 4 dogs (they are our kids for now), and love to do outdoorsy things like fishing, hiking and camping (we're going camping to the Sequoia National Forest in May). I hope I haven't rambled on too much!
Never too much rambling! I am a big offender of rambling hehe. When Ann sent me her app in the samples were amazing but this one totally blew me away just for all the dimension...

Look at that! Its a serious and gorgeous piece of art! No way I could turn talent like that away! I'm thrilled to have her on our DT. Ann was kind enough to answer our Odd Questions too!

What makes you Odd? I have crafting mood swings where I just can't seem to decide what style I like best. Therefore in that sense, I think I'm odd :)

If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself? On a hot air balloon (with no passengers, of course)

What ONE crafty item do you most identify with and why? A paper cutter/trimmer - sharp, precise, sometimes taken for granted and overlooked, but always necessary

5 Random Facts about you! I have four dogs, I love puzzles, I couldn't picture the world without trees, I have a sweet tooth, and I can never have enough patterned paper

If you had to choose between being colour blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why? Color blind. What's the point of seeing the color of an orange if I can't taste it?

What fictional character is most like you? Hmm, it would have to be the Boy Scout kid from Up! - his name is Russell

The thumbtack question has to be my fav! Quite a ride she would get!!! Well Ann is celebrating her intro day over at her blog with another Giveaway! The digi she is giving out is certainly one of my FAVS! He could be one of yours too! Just hop on over to Ann's Blog and get in on it! Don't forget to come back tomorrow for our last intro!

Welcome Kim!

What a beautiful day!!! its in the 80s here in Michigan, the birds are goin nuts and Sping seems to be here in force! What a great day to introduce you to a DT member who is on her 2nd official day with us! She joined us to celebrate her birthday and has decided to stick around...

Welcome Kimmy!!!!!

I'm privilaged to work with Kimmy over at ScrapMuse on that fab DT and when she asked about stickin around I was all too happy to bring her aboard! A lil about Kim...

My name is Kim and having been born and bred in Hamburg/Germany, I moved to the United Kingdom in 1999 to live with my boyfriend of 11 years. Having always been a creative, crafty person I seriously started to scrap in December 2004 and my new obsession was born. Not one day goes by when I can not be found in my craft room - I draw inspiration just by keeping my eyes open. It can a be a skirt I see in a shop window, a broken bench,a photo, something funny someone said in the office…as long as I have my notepad with me and jot down ideas that come to my head, I am sure I will never run out of inspiration.
Even though she's new she's been hard at work with some Odd goodies!

C'mon, how coupld I NOT keep such wonderfulness around? :) Not to mention if you have ever talked to Kimmy you could tell she's my kinda girl! As Leah can attest, I have said she and Kimmy are sisters seperated by an ocean LOL. Getting ready for today Kim has answered our Odd Questions too!

What makes you Odd?
Uhm, juss look at me, will ya?? It doesn't get much odder than me...
But apart from that I guess eating chocolate while drinking beer or wine could qualify as ODD. Having CD's of Pantera right next to Tchaikovsky could be considered ODD...no?

If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself?
Oh please don't go there - I may say things I shouldn't...but Id' probably would want to be stuck in the close proximity of either Vivian Campbell or Johnny Depp

What ONE crafty item do you most identify with and why?
Cardboard - just peel of the first layer and you may be pleasantly surprised of the texture you find underneath

5 Random Facts about you!
My left arm is totally covered in tattoos and I am nowhere near done
I could live of pizza and red wine for the rest of my life
I am pretty darn good at baking cakes and muffins
If you want to terrify me, shove a balloon in my face - I am freakin' scared of those buggers
I eat minced pork meat raw, when I prepare it to make burgers (I guess I pick the amount of about 1 burger). I know it is supposed to be unhealthy but I am still alive after 40 odd years of eating the stuff...

If you had to choose between being colour blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why?
I could defintely do without the colours but i would not be able to cope without the ability to taste...can you imagine?? The most divine chocolate tasting like...uhm, nothing at all. No more "whhhhhooooaaaaa that is spicy" kinda outcries or "geez, do you really need to go wild with the salt?"
Nah, I can live being colour blind as you will still be able to see the majority of colours anyway

What fictional character is most like you?
Garfield - eat, sleep, be rude: that about sums me up in a nutshell
ok... we have to take a minute for Johnny Depp...

mmmm

Ok LOL! Back to it... to celebrate the occasion head on over to Kimmy's Blog and see what she has for ya today! Not only that but Kimmy does wonderful things with not just cards but scrapbook pages too! Much fun to look at!

Come back tomorrow for another fun intro!

Howdy Robin!

Another day another intro! I'm so thrilled to have so many wonderful ladies to introduce you to! Even though I want to encourage you to get lost in the festivites I don't want you to forget to jump back and get in on our first Challenge! Its a fun and easy one!

Today let's stand up and say howdy to Robin!

Howdy Robin!

I couldn't resist LOL. Robin is coming to us from good ol Canada! I seem to have a thing for Canadians :) But that aside Robin showed from the get go that she had the skills and the personality to get down with us! When I got her app I had to go right to her blog and here are a couple things that drew me to Robin...

and

Now that you've seen it, you can read a lil about Robin...

I saw the Designer Call for the Some Odd Girl stamps! My name is Robin McKinley, and I live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and work downtown Toronto. A little bit about me: well, I am obsessed with paper crafting - especially stamping! I love all things ink and paper, and I especially love colouring! I have worked with digital images before, and am very comfortable with them. I also really enjoy participating in online challenges, so I think that is a really great way to promote the new images! By day, I am a Reservations Supervisor at a prestigious Toronto hotel, and by night, I am a stamping machine.
I also LOVE to read, and I love animals too. I routinely go to the gym to keep active, and I try to travel as much as possible.
We've got Oddies from all walks of life! Robin also answered our Odd Questions...
What makes me odd? Well, let's see... I have a 4-bedroom house - 3 of the bedrooms have people sleeping in them, and the 4th has my crafts sleeping in it. MY CRAFTS HAVE THEIR OWN HOME. They are a priority - next to my pets ; p I would say most "normal" people consider that odd.

If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself? If I was a thumb tack, I suppose I would stick myself in the Human Resources office at work to get some juicy gossip! I was gonna say something about being in a men's change room for male models, but I thought that might be a tad raunchie, so I went a little lighter.

The crafty item I most identify with? I would have to say it's one of those edge punches. They are very precise, and formula-oriented. You can line everything up and get a perfect, continuous line of pattern. I love things that are consistent! {a little anal-retentive???}

5 Random Facts:
- I am allergic to cats, but have a whole family of them at my house.
- I went to an arts high school, and majored in vocal music.
- I spent 5 months in New Zealand on an exchange one semester in University (one of the greatest times ever).
- I don`t like to drink water.
- I hold a special place in my heart for chocolate (except hazelnut chocolate), and candy (especialy Skittles).

If you had to choose between being colour blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why? I would rather be colour blind. I just couldn`t part with the taste of a great meal, or a yummy snack - simple as that!

What fictional character is most like you? Well, I am going to stay in the realm of human. Don`t laugh, but I am most like Jerry Seinfeld...realistic, and sarcastic!
Hmmmm I kinda liked the idea about the male models.....

oh... I was posting. WELL. hehe I am thrilled to have Robin on the Team! She's also got a giveaway for ya to get in on going up on her blog! Head on over and see how you can get your freebie!
